Blood Cholesterol

Food Allergy test (IgG and IgE)

When an allergic recation occurs, the immune system reacts by releasing cells called antibodies.  Two of the antibodies involved in allergic reactions are immunoglobulin E (IgE) and immunoglobulin G (IgG).  IgE production occurs right after ingestion or inhalation of an allergen (what provokes the allergy

1.- IgG-  IgG antibodies are produced several hours or days after exposure to an allergen (what provokes the allergy).  They are normally removed by special cells in the liver and spleen, but if they are present in large numbers and the allergen continues to be consumed,t he body isn’t able to remove them fast enough.  They accumulate and are deposited in body tissues, causing the release of inflammation causing chemicals, which contribute to a variety of health problems, such as:

  • Headaches and/or high blood pressure
  • Mood disorders (hyperactivity, depression, anxiety, inability to concentrate)
  • Asthma / recurring respiratory infections
  • Eczema and other skin conditions
  • Joint pain / arthritis
  • Runny nose and puffiness around the eyes
  • Digestive tract problems
  • Auto-immune disorders

2.- IgE – IgE reactions occur within minutes or hours of exposure and release inflammation causing chemilas like histamine, which are responsible for most of the symptoms associated with IgE allergic reactions.  These sympomts may include:

  • Redness and Swelling
  • Tightening of airways
  • Itching
